5-minute study

Asking for wisdom when you need an answer

Wisdom is rarely a sudden certainty. It is usually a regulated mind, honest counsel, and time.

Running a decision through state, counsel, and values

Recognize the state

State
Ruach educational content

Notice the state first. A decision made from activation tends to be either impulsive or frozen. Before weighing options, check whether your chest, jaw, and breathing are actually available for thinking.

Ruach treats wisdom as a process: regulate the state, name the values at stake, gather honest counsel, test the options against consequences, then decide. Spiritual language applied to an unregulated decision does not make it wise.

Scripture

Scripture

Quotations are verbatim from the King James Version (public domain). Context and application below each passage are Ruach's own educational commentary, not Scripture.

If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

Ruach context: addressed to a community under trial; the phrase 'upbraideth not' means the asking is not treated as a failure.

Ruach application: not knowing is a normal starting position. Asking is the move, not the embarrassment.

Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.

Ruach context: instruction framed as a parent teaching a child, using the language of acquisition over time.

Ruach application: 'get' implies effort and accumulation. Wisdom here is gathered, not downloaded in a moment.

Regulate

Regulation

Run the practice here, without leaving the study.

Prayerful reflection

Honest, unedited words offered in whatever way your spiritual framework holds.

03:00
  1. 1.Say plainly what is true right now, without cleaning it up.
  2. 2.Ask for what you actually need, not what you think you should need.
  3. 3.Stay quiet for a full minute afterward.

Respond

Response

Take this into real life. A decision made on purpose can be defended calmly.

Your reflection

Entries save to your own I AM Resonance account. Only you can read them, and they never appear on public Ruach pages.
